Gestern war es Donnerstag. Es war der einundzwanzigste Juli 2011.

Heute ist es Freitag (Gott sei Dank) der zweiundzwanzigste Juli 2011.

Morgen und Übermorgen ist es Samstag und Sonntag, das heißt wir haben frei – es ist unser Wochenende!!!

Dann kommt schon wieder der Montag, der Dienstag sowie der Mittwoch.

Today, it is Friday (thank God) the twenty-second July 2011.

Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, it will be Saturday and Sunday, this means we are off – it is our weekend!!!

Das Wort des Tages ist “pünktlich“

Mit der Pünktlichkeit hat mein Mann ein Problem..

Daher sage ich ihm oft nicht die richtige Anfangszeit einer Veranstaltung, sondern gebe ihm eine frühere Zeit.

Damit verlassen wir das Haus etwas früher als normal, kommen jedoch pünktlich an.

Gute Idee von mir, oder??? J

My husband has a problem with punctuality.

Therefore, I oftentimes don’t tell him the correct starting time of an event, but give him an earlier time.

Therefore, we leave the house a bit earlier than normal, but arrive on time.

Good idea of mine, right???? J

Wie heißt das Sprichwort „es nützt nichts sich zu beklagen – es hört sowieso keiner zu“???

Aber in meinen Augen hilft es sich hier und dort zu beklagen; man fühlt sich viel, viel besser wenn man über Probleme sprechen kann, auch wenn man oft keine Hilfe bekommt.

But in my eyes, it helps to complain here and there; one feels much, much better when one can talk about problems, even if one often does not receive any help.

Ich hatte eine Woche Urlaub.
Als ich heute im Büro ankam, fühlte ich mich - nach genossener Freizeit - ziemlich jung.
Nach fast siebenhundert E-Mails und tausend Fragen hat sich das ganz schnell von jung auf alt geändert.
Heute Nacht schlafe ich bestimmt besonders gut.

I had one week of vacation.
When I arrived at the office this morning I felt – after enjoyed leisure time - pretty young.
After almost seven hundred e-mails and thousands of questions, this changed quite fast from young to old.
Tonight, I will definitely sleep especially well.

Es ist komisch an was man sich so schnell gewöhnt.
In Deutschland ging ich nie ohne Einkaufstasche oder Einkaufsnetz einkaufen.
Hier im Amerika bekommt man Plastikbeutel und obwohl ich auch mehrere Einkaufstaschen im Auto habe, vergesse ich immer
wieder sie mit in das Geschäft zu nehmen.

In Germany, I never went shopping without a shopping bag or shopping net.
Here in America, one receives plastic bags and even though I have several shopping bags in the car, I always forget to
take them into the store.
